About the course

Learn about the very basics of analysing and presenting statistical data.
No prior knowledge of statistics is assumed. Anyone who needs to deal with data in their work should be able to participate fully.

Study route

Full-time. Two days.

Cancellation terms

A refund may be made when a booking is cancelled, with the deduction of a £50 administration fee where the cancellation is more than six weeks before the course. If you cancel within the six weeks, 50% of the fees will be payable. For cancellations within two weeks, no refund is possible. If we cancel a course, a full refund will be made.

This course is aimed at all who need to learn about the basics of analysing and presenting statistical data.

This course is being offered on one occasion: 12th - 13th June 2013.

This course is an expanded version of our Getting Started with Stats course, incorporating presentation of data and questionnaire design.

What prior knowledge is assumed?

No prior knowledge of statistics is assumed. Anyone who needs to deal with data in their work should be able to participate fully.

SPSS
Descriptive statistics
Presentation of data
Probability
The Normal distribution
Confidence intervals
Questionnaire design

Other information

Discounts are available for those attending more than one course (such as the follow-on Essential Data Analysis, Intermediate/Refresher Course in Statistics and Higher Course in Statistics), non-University of Hertfordshire research students, University of Hertfordshire staff and students. Those on limited incomes should contact the course organisers to discuss their situation.
